As the school year begins in September, 1992, AskVanGo commences operations, utilizing one 10-seat Dodge Ram van specially outfitted with safety features such as emergency kits, fire extinguishers, thermal blankets, drinking water and stationary two-way radios. During 1992 and 1993 the Company adds 4 more vans. VanGo is really on the go!

For example, drivers are required to receive 20 hours of classroom training, 20 hours of behind-the-wheel training and undergo a thorough [Department of Justice] background check before earning certification by the California Highway Patrol. Additionally, annual Youth Bus and SPAB vehicle inspections by the CHP are widely intensified.

Legend has it that half a decade ago, when AskVanGo was one of many small companies applying to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for authority to drop off and pick up passengers on a reservation basis, its distinctive name was recognized by certain airport executives as the safety-obsessed carrier of their own school children.
